In 2010 EFSA considered that an ADI should not be established for neutral methacrylate copolymer (E 1206), in the absence of data on chronic effects, and used a margin of safety (MOS) approach; it concluded that use in solid food supplements at the proposed use and use levels is not of safety concern. EFSA could not assess its use in solid foods for special medical purposes.
