Food label scanner for Vietnam

Know what's inside.
In one photo.

Snap the back of any package. Yenzo reads the label — even in Vietnamese, no barcode needed — and tells you what's good and what's not.

How it works

Five seconds at the shelf

The front of the pack sells. The back tells the truth. Yenzo reads the back for you.

  1. Step 1

    Snap the label

Point your camera at the ingredients list — add the nutrition table if you can.

  2. Step 2

    Yenzo reads it

Vietnamese text, local additive names and E-numbers. No barcode needed.

  3. Step 3

    Get a clear verdict

A colour level, a one-word verdict and the 3–5 things that matter most.

What you'll see

One scale. Five levels. No jargon.

Every product lands on the same colour scale, so a soy sauce and a snack bar are judged by the same rules.

Avoid

Several red flags at once: lots of sugar, salt or saturated fat, plus higher-risk additives.

Poor

Clear minuses outweigh the pluses — often ultra-processed, very salty or very sweet.

Moderate

A mix of pluses and minuses. Fine as part of a varied diet.

Good

Mostly positives: moderate sugar and salt, few or low-risk additives.

Excellent

Simple ingredients, good nutrition, little or no processing.

A formula you can check yourself

Our method is public. It looks at nutrition per 100 g, additive risk classes based on EFSA evaluations, and how processed a product is. Same rules for every brand.

FAQ

Questions

Is Yenzo free?

Yes — scanning is free. An optional subscription will add extras like family profiles, history and alternatives.

Do I need a barcode?

No. Yenzo reads the printed ingredients and nutrition table from a photo, which matters for local products that aren't in global barcode databases.

How is the score calculated?

With a public formula based on nutrition per 100 g, additive risk classes and degree of processing. The full method is on our scoring page.

Can brands pay for a score?

No. Advertising and partnerships never affect scores. A product's result depends only on its label.

Is this medical advice?

No. Yenzo gives general, information-only guidance about food labels. For medical or dietary needs, talk to a doctor or dietitian.

What happens to my photos?

Photos are used to read the label. See our Privacy Policy for details.
