Is Fast Green FCF harmful?
In 2017 JECFA confirmed an ADI of 0–25 mg/kg body weight per day for Fast Green FCF. JECFA noted a conservative exposure estimate of 12 mg/kg body weight per day (95th percentile, adolescents), below the upper bound of the ADI, and concluded that dietary exposures for adolescents and all other age groups do not present a health concern.
Is E143 permitted in Vietnam?
Yes. Fast green FCF (INS 143) is listed in Appendix 1 of Circular 24/2019/TT-BYT, the list of additives permitted in food, with the function colour.
