About this list

The three Annex 2A groups are “potato, cereal, flour or starch based snacks”, “processed nuts” and “fish snacks”^[2]; their additives are given in the same annex^[1]. The circular covers colours, such as sunset yellow FCF (E110)^[3], and antioxidants such as BHA (E320), whose maximum is stated “for oils or fats”^[4]. On function, Codex defines a colour as an additive that adds or restores colour in a food^[5].

The list comes from the “found in” section of each additive's page: the food groups of Circular 24/2019/TT-BYT, Appendix 2A (maximum levels of additives in food). Being listed means the additive is permitted there, not that every product contains it.
