About this list

Margarine, blended spreads and emulsified fats fall under the groups “fat spreads, dairy fat spreads and blended spreads” and “fat emulsions”^[2]. BHA (E320) has its maximum “for oils or fats”^[3], and calcium disodium EDTA (E385) is counted in its anhydrous form^[4]. Polyglycerol esters (E476) are emulsifiers, and the circular excludes dairy fat spreads with a fat content of 70% or more^[5]. The emulsifier is what Codex says forms or maintains a uniform emulsion between phases^[6].

The list comes from the “found in” section of each additive's page: the food groups of Circular 24/2019/TT-BYT, Appendix 2A (maximum levels of additives in food). Being listed means the additive is permitted there, not that every product contains it.
